Papo France Shrimp

Small but essential to marine ecosystems, shrimp are one of the most widespread crustaceans in oceans and rivers. They are recognizable by their elongated body, long antennae, and multiple small legs.

Surprisingly, shrimp breathe through gills located under their shells and have the ability to swim backward very quickly by abruptly folding their abdomens. Some species play a key role in cleaning coral reefs by ridding fish of parasites. Their great diversity—there are several thousand species—makes them an essential link in the marine food chain.

This Papo figurine exquisitely reproduces the shrimp: delicate antennae, textured shell and realistic silhouette. An ideal model to enrich a collection of marine animals, invent aquatic stories or educate children about the importance of these small crustaceans in underwater life.
